Ian has been part of NSW DPIRD since 2006, originally in the fish stocking and enhancement program for recreational fishing. Since 2021, Ian has been with the NSW Aquatic Biosecurity team as a Policy and Project Officer. Having been involved in the development of a NSW freshwater surveillance plan, advisory and education material for ornamental fish keepers and developing the NSW Tilapia Control Plan, he will now have a concerted focus on the activities outlined in the Control Plan to help keep NSW free from the threat of tilapia.
