Lynnath Beckley is an Emeritus Professor at Murdoch University, Australia and has been an ASFB member for nearly four decades! She has researched various aspects of the Indian Ocean including fish ecology, MPAs, human use of marine resources and the biological oceanography of the Agulhas and Leeuwin Current systems. In 2019, as part of second International Indian Ocean Expedition (IIOE-2), she led a large multi-disciplinary project to revisit the 110 °E transect line in the south-eastern Indian Ocean. She chairs Theme 6 of the IIOE-2 and the Australian National IIOE-2 Committee.
