Austral Research and Consulting (established 2011) has built a strong reputation for providing specialised knowledge gathering and fieldwork services, including surveys of fish, macroinvertebrates and other aquatic fauna, water quality assessments, bathymetric mapping and environmental impact assessments. Recently, Austral have expanded their capacity and range of services by recruiting highly experienced staff with expertise in waterway management strategy and planning from the scale of individual waterways to national.

Austral’s organisational structure provides cost effective aquatic ecology assessments. Our small team allows us to focus resources on the delivery of project tasks by highly experienced and specialised staff. We regularly partner with other small consultancies who offer complementary specialist skills such as hydrology, hydrogeology, geomorphology and waterway engineering. We have well developed networks and proven experience to facilitate this successful approach nation-wide.
