Charles Darwin University (CDU) is a unique institution that contributes to the future of northern Australia through innovative and impactful training, education, and research. CDU’s Research Institute for the Environment and Livelihoods (RIEL) is a leader in environmental research in northern Australia and the near Asia-Pacific region, supporting natural resource management, sustainable development, and biodiversity conservation across tropical and arid ecosystems. CDU’s Research Institute for Northern Agriculture (RINA) addresses the opportunities and challenges of sustaining and developing primary industry in northern Australia, with a focus on agriculture, aquaculture, and biosecurity research. This plenary session is supported by CDU’s Office of Research and Innovation, RIEL, and RINA.
