Bringing together traditional knowledge and western science to monitor Country. Indigenous Rangers, Traditional Owners, and the Australian Institute of Marine Science (AIMS) have teamed up to form the Northern Australian Marine Monitoring Alliance (NAMMA). NAMMA supports Indigenous Rangers and Traditional Owners in sustainably managing sea Country through modern scientific methods for monitoring marine environments in Indigenous Protected Areas. NAMMA's mission is to combine advanced technologies, western science, and Traditional knowledge to empower Indigenous communities in protecting and managing their marine environments.
